• UPE has a mailbox in the computer science department - Carol will check it once a week.
• There needs to be a web page for UPE. Matt will create an initial web page by Monday, October 13.
• Matt brought over paperwork to be registered as part of student organizations on September 30, 1997. It should now be on the list.
• Dr. Kerstetter will contact past president, Joe Cook, to sign the certificates for last years inductees.
• Dr. Kerstetter would like to show a video in the political science library titled "Pioneers of Computing" on consecutive Wednesdays. It is 50 minutes long. Members discussed the possibility of involving pledges to show this video and possible serving pizza to get a better turnout for the showing.
• Initiation of new pledges should take place two weeks before final exams. Dr. Kerstetter has put in a request for a list of perspective pledges and he should get it possibly by next week. He will e-mail the members with the list after he has computed the grades for elgibility requirements. Voting will take place from this final list.
• Members discussed how to increase representation for UPE. Dr. Kapenga will check on home pages for UPE members. Members unanimously voted for having their own web pages. It was decided that guidelines need to be set for the content of these web pages.
• The official jobs for the officers need to be organized.
