Assignment 1. Quantum computing reading assignment
Read YM text Ch. 2-6, JHS Ch. 1-2.

Assignment 2. Due 09/09/22 by email.
Select chapter/sections (from YM Ch. 4-6) for presentation.

Assignment 3. Quantum computing programming assignment. Due: 09/28/22 by email.

  1. Deterministic systems: Programming drill 3.1.1 p. 79.
    Take exercise 3.1.2 p. 78 as an example. Add another (larger) example.
  2. Probabilistic systems: Programming drill 3.2.1 p. 88.
    As an example, use the matrix of Eq. (3.32) for the system dynamics,
    and the start state given by Eq. (3.34). Add another (larger) example.
  3. Quantum systems: Programming drill 3.3.1 p. 97.
    Use the matrix of Eq. (3.50) as an example for the system dynamics,
    and the start state given by Eq. (3.34). For a second example, use the tensor
    of the combined system in Eq. (3.61) p. 99, and the state of Eq. (3.59) p. 98.
  4. Submit your programs and a report (using IEEE format) presenting your results.

Assignment 4. Due 10/26/22 by email.
Select chapter/sections for second presentation.

Assignment 5. Due 11/09/22 by email.
Problem set Brainerd and Landweber (handout): Exercises Ch. 1, p. 14 ##1.e,f;
Calculate 121 x 22 in Sigma_2; p. 18 ##1,2,6; pp. 20-21 ##1, 3; p. 24 ##4a,5a.
