Computer Science Minor

 

The department of Computer Science offers two minors: a Science option and a General option. The Science option requires more mathematics courses than the General option. Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, etc. majors generally opt for the Science option minor; Business, Communications, Sociology, etc. majors usually select the General option minor.

 

Required Courses for GENERAL Option CS Minor

Computer Science-Core 21-22 Hrs

CS 1110 Computer Science I 4

CS 1120 Computer Science II 4

CS 2010, CS 2020,
CS 2050, or CS 2060
Programming in FORTRAN, COBOL, Java, or Visual BASIC 2

CS 2230 Comp. Organization & Assembly Lang. 3

CS 3310 Data and File Structures 3

2 Approved Electives (1 may be a language)[SEE ADVISOR] from a programming language not already taken, CS2240, CS3400, CS4850, CS4900, CS4910 or a 5000-level CS class 5-6
