Computer Science Minors

The Department offers two minors in Computer Science: a Science option and a General option. The Science option requires more mathematics courses than the General option; and it requires the student to take FORTRAN ("FORmula TRANslation") as their 2nd programming language rather than COBOL ("COmmon Business Oriented Language") or FORTRAN. Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, etc. majors general opt for the Science option minor; Sociology, Business, Communications, etc. majors usually select the General option minor.
